Market Update
The market finished the week mixed, but the bigger story was that investors received three different signals at once: inflation moderated, consumer spending weakened, and oil prices climbed again.
For the week, the S&P 500 gained 0.4%, the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.1%, and the Russell 2000 advanced 1.1%, while the Dow fell 0.6%. The S&P 500 still managed its third consecutive weekly gain and reached a fresh record during the week.
The market’s message is becoming more complicated. Softer inflation and weaker spending reduce the probability of another Federal Reserve rate hike, which is positive for valuations. But weaker consumer activity also raises questions about future economic growth.

The Real Business Behind Options Trading Discords
We are in the time when the financial finfluencer, “finfluencer”, is becoming the main source of financial advice for social media users. There’s good and bad with all things and there’s no difference with finfluencers. Unfortunately, their incentive could work opposite of your motivation for taking their advice, which is to have more financial freedom.
Discord trading groups are particularly dangerous. A study of over 20,000 callouts (trade signals) from 15 discord trading groups proves the business does not have an incentive to make you any money at all. This won’t be a surprise once you understand how discord servers truly operate and the business model the finfluencer
Their business model isn’t your profit
Discord revenue comes from you staying subscribed at $200 or $300 a month. That revenue doesn't require you to make money. The incentive is for you to stay engaged. Those aren't the same thing, and conflating them is where people get into trouble.
Here's the part that's easy to miss: most people don't actually join these communities for the money. They join because they like the finfluencer, they want to belong to a group, the tribal pull of being part of something with people they identify with. Money becomes secondary to the sense of belonging. Which means the leader's real job isn't delivering winning trades. It's keeping you attached to the community. The callouts are the mechanism for that, not the money you make from the trades.

You’ve saved $1.5 million. Now comes the real test.
Can it produce $10,000 a month, or will that pace drain your portfolio?
Most retirees do not get a clear answer until it is too late.
The issue is not just how much you have. It is whether your portfolio was built to pay you, not just grow.
That difference can determine whether your money lasts decades or starts breaking down early.
Sequence of returns, taxes on withdrawals, healthcare costs, and whether the 4% rule still applies all play a role.
Fiduciary advisors created a breakdown showing what drives sustainable income and why the same $1.5M can produce very different outcomes.
If you have $1M or more invested, do not guess.
